Why Competent Boards – A Message from our CEO & Founder Helle Bank Jorgensen:
I have had the pleasure of meeting and engaging with many CEOs and Boards – and over the years, I’ve written numerous articles about how boards can make more sustainable decisions.
During this time, one thing clearly stood out to me: while we live in a global world, “director training” is mainly local. Boards of Directors typically have few opportunities to get hands-on insight from other leaders who aren’t within their close network.
That pushed me to ask boards one key question: where do they go to learn and acquire new insight in order to help solve the biggest issues discussed in boardrooms?
Surprisingly, no one had a comprehensive source that gave them the truly cutting-edge know-how they needed. To add to this, it sounded like the traditional channels were not the most convenient way for boards to obtain this knowledge – and it was costly.
But there was one thing they all seemed to echo — the lack of a platform where they could learn from their peers. A collaborative space, of sorts, where they could build on their acumen by learning from the experiences of other board members.
So, with this in mind, I sought out to interview some of the world’s most intelligent, experienced, and respected business leaders: chairs, board members, CEOs, investors and experts across various industries.
My expertise is sustainability, including ESG, climate change, and helping executives strategically leverage the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but there are also numerous other avenues that we’d like to focus on. These avenues could range from the future of work and artificial intelligence to cybersecurity and everything in between that’s disrupting industries globally and posing new challenges that business leaders have never seen before.
Let us know what you would like to learn more about.
My mission is to build an online accessible global platform where current and future directors and business leaders have the resources to learn from each other. A place where knowledge, wisdom, and acumen are shared and amplified in order to bring resiliency and the best philosophy and practices into boardrooms across the world.
I look forward to working with you.
