Emily Pidgeon Ph.D
Co-Lead Center for Oceans Conservation International
Emily Pidgeon works on developing solutions for coastal and marine adaptation to climate change and on marine based approaches for mitigation through “blue carbon.”
Emily is the Co-Lead Center for Oceans Conservation International. Formerly, she was Vice President of Ocean Science and Innovation, which is focused on solutions for coastal and marine adaptation to climate change and on developing marine based approaches for mitigation through “blue carbon”.
Emily has a broad background in marine sciences. After completing her Ph.D. in environmental engineering at Stanford University, she was a research scientist working on coastal oceanography problems at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego, California. Emily has also worked in the oil and gas industry and as a consultant addressing pollutant issues in coastal waters.
At Conservation International, Emily’s primary focus was integrating ocean sciences into effective conservation strategies and field implementation. This particularly includes addressing the impacts of climate change on coastal and ocean communities and environments.
