Vagn Sørensen
Chair, Air Canada, Scandlines and Big Bus Tours; Board Member, Royal Caribbean Cruises, CNH Industrial and Parques Reunidos SA
Vagn Sørensen spent most of his executive career in the aviation business. After 17 years with Scandinavian Airlines, where he was deputy CEO, he was the CEO of Austrian Airlines between 2001 and 2006 and has then pursued a career as a Non-Executive Director primarily in the leisure, hotel and aviation sectors, but also spanning other sectors such as software development, telecommunications and heavy machinery. He has c. 20 years’ experience in private equity, mainly with EQT.
Mr Sørensen is currently Chairman of F L Smidth, Air Canada, Flying Tiger Copenhagen, TIA Technology and Scandlines.
He is an Independent Director on the Boards of Royal Caribbean Cruises and CNH Industrial.
He is also on the Board of Directors at Parques Reunidos, Unilode Aviation Solutions, Nordic Aviation Capital, VFS Global and the Board of trustees of the Rock’n Roll Forever Foundation.
Mr. Sørensen was previously Chairman of British Midland Airways, Scandic Hotels Group, Automic Software, Bureau van Dijk and KMD, Member of the Supervisory Board of Lufthansa Cargo, Deputy Chairman by DFDS, Chairman of the Association of European Airlines, Member of the Board of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and was Chairman of TDC A/S, the Danish incumbent telco operator.
