Andrea Slattery has been an Independent Non-Executive Director (NED) & Governance expert for nearly 30 years, 15 of those on highly regulated, high-profile ASX, Government and NFP Boards and Federal Government Advisory Committees. Currently Andrea is a NED on the Board of AMP Limited, AMP Bank, Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Argo Global Listed Infrastructure, the Deputy Chair of the Woomera Prohibited Area Advisory Board and is Chair of the AMP Limited and AMP Bank Audit Committees. She has proven experience in financial services, government relations and innovation and is an expert in strategy, governance, culture and transformational change.

Starting her career in Tax and Academia, Andrea was the Founder, Managing Director and CEO of the SMSF Association for 14 years. She led the seven-fold transformational growth of the SMSF Retirement Sector in Australia from 19% (or $109B FUM in 2003) to the largest sector of the Australian Retirement system with 30% (or $750B FUM of $2.5T in 2017).
Andrea has been publicly recognised by 3 Prime Ministers, Government and Industry peers as one of the most influential and strategic thought leaders in the Australian Financial Services and Retirement systems who has helped to generate wealth for millions enjoying a higher standard of living in retirement than they would have otherwise experienced. She has also been instrumental in effecting positive change for the financial equality of women.
Andrea was awarded ‘Australian Woman of the Year in Financial Services’ 2014, nominated for ‘Australian of the Year’ in 2017, and was awarded ‘AFL Mother of the Year’ in 2009. Andrea has also presented on Retirement Systems and Financial Services and Advice Transformational Change in China, Europe (to the United Nations), USA, UK and Vietnam.
Andrea holds a Masters of Commerce & Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from University of South Australia, is a Fellow of Certified Practicing Accountants, a Member of Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand, a Fellow of SMSF Association, a Fellow of Australian Institute of Company Directors and an inaugural recipient of Harvard Business School Corporate Director Certificate. She is a member of Chief Executive Women and Harvard Business School Women Execs on Boards.
Andrea, and husband Paul, live in Adelaide, South Australia and have 4 sons, 4 daughters-in-law and 12 grandchildren. She loves family, a glass of wine & playing tennis.
